Gone has the stigma that there use to be about wearing wigs and hairpieces. People through all walks of life and at all levels are now wearing them with great pride.
The fact that so many celebrities are wearing wigs, hairpieces and extensions themselves, gives them celebrity status. Now with celebrity endorsement, this of course means if it’s now considered cool for the celebrities to wear them, then it is also cool for the public to be able to wear them. The public can look more like their favorite celebrity in a blink of an eye if they wish.

You can pay an enormous amount of money on a beautiful outfit but any lady will tell you that if her hair isn’t right she feels a mess and very self conscious.

This range of Wig-O-Mania wigs come in a normal average size of 21.5″ to 22.5″with adjustable straps which can be tightened in the nape of the neck to reduce the size and give a snug fit. The only person that we would not recommend them for, is anyone with a 23inch or larger scull size, because they would be too tight for them. Measurements should be taken around the natural hairline.
Before putting on your wig, it is advisable to secure your hair in a wig net or wig cap liner, (as they are sometimes called,) in a similar colour to the wig you intend to wear. The wig net does not go over your ears but follows your natural hair line. A wig cap is not worn with a ¾ wig.
The label inside the wig goes to the back.
All full head wigs should be worn with the cap structure of the wig following again around your natural hairline, without showing the wig net underneath so that they look as natural as possible. Please do not wear them half way down your forehead like a hat or with your ears tucked inside.
There are 2 shaped tabs that go above the ears and around the back of the ears. These must be level when the wig is put on. If one is higher than the other then the wig is on lopsided and should be adjusted.
Fringes are usually left a little longer so that if a person has a long forehead it will be ok. All other fringes can be cut to the suitable length required. Be very careful to only cut a very small amount of at a time because remember, once you have cut it you are stuck with it. Do not cut it until you are absolutely sure it is what you want.
Once in place check if the wig is tight enough. If it needs tightening take it off and adjust the straps inside at the nape until you are happy.
Once in place always brush slowly, starting at the bottom at the back using a rubber cushioned steel pin wig brush, working your way up your head, gently removing any tangles as you go to avoid damaging the wig cap or fibre. You never brush initially right through from front to back as this will tighten any tangles that may occur and can cause breakage. This also applies to your own natural hair.
Never use the same brush that you use on your own natural hair on your wig, as this will just transfer the grease from your own hair onto your wig. Keep a separate brush just to be used on your wig. This way it will need washing less often.
Synthetic wigs normally come pre-styled. This can be altered to a degree by the way in which you brush it, but never try to alter the style drastically yourself.
If you have the very latest superior High Heat Fibre then you can alter the style considerably by curling it or straightening it, as long as you do not use an appliance above 180 degrees.
If your wig has a skin top or skin parting, avoid brushing down to the base of the skin top as this can damage it and cause the fibre to break off. Do not alter where the parting falls as this has been permanently placed and trying to alter it may cause the fibre to break.
If your wig has a Mono top or a Mono parting these are the most natural items in appearance because every single piece of fibre has been hand knotted onto a very fine monofilament base. This is very time consuming when they are being made, therefore also very expensive. However the Mono is very light weight and allows heat to escape easily and are far more comfortable to wear. So the comfort out ways the cost.
After brushing into style, you may use a water-soluble wig spray sparingly, to secure your style. Ordinary hair sprays are not suitable and will build up and spoil your wig.
